Waterloo motorcyclist airlifted after car fails to yield right of way in Waterloo

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday at approximately 3:50 p.m. deputies responded to the area of State Route 96 and Brewer Road in the Town of Waterloo for a car-motorcycle accident.

Investigation determined that Adam T. Salvaggio, 19, of Pennsylvania was traveling north on Brewer Road when he came to the intersection with State Route 96.

Deputies say that Salvagio failed to yield the right of way – hitting Michael Swinehart, 30, of Waterloo, who was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle.

Deputies say that Swinehart was transported by North Seneca Ambulance; and then airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies say that Swinehart suffered several abrasions and a broken collar bone.

Salvaggio was issued traffic tickets for failing to yield the right of way.

Deputies were assisted by The Waterloo Police Department, Waterloo Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance.
