19th annual PGA golf clinic a success at NR-W

The North Rose-Wolcott Central School District recently put on the 19th annual PGA golf clinic, where participants received tips from PGA professionals. Approximately 30 people attended the event in Wolcott.

Jon Fowler, PGA pro from Springbrook Greens in Fair Haven, helped participants with their putting game. Larissa Carter, PGA Assistant from Highland Country Club in Auburn, NY, assisted with chipping. Will Weimer, PGA pro from Stone Creek Golf Club in Oswego, NY, helped golfers with their full swing and Dr. Alan Pritchard, USGA Rules Official from Sodus, NY, helped participants understand the many new rule changes that go into effect this golf season.

NRW athletic director Robyn Roberts-Grant said: “This is always a great event because our community members get to learn from real professionals right here in Wolcott. Despite the weather, we had a great turnout. Special thanks go to the NRW grounds crew, range volunteers, McDonald’s, and the North Rose Lions Club.”

Planning for next year’s clinic is currently underway.
