Two Auburn suspects charged after attacking, biting officer during arrest

Auburn Police have arrested two suspects during an attempted arrest Monday afternoon.

According to police, Patrol Officers were dispatched to the area of Washington St on an investigation. During the investigation, an officer attempted to make an arrest of an 18-year-old Auburn resident after allegedly being physically pushed in the chest.

The suspect, who has not been identified by police, allegedly resisted their arrest by kicking at the officer and biting the right index finger of the officer as he was attempting to gain control of the teen.

While placing the 18-year-old under arrest, Destiny M. Gould of Auburn allegedly slapped the officer in the face in an attempt to prevent the arrest of the 18-year-old.

Both suspects were eventually taken into custody.

The officer received treatment for the bite wound to his right index finger at Auburn Community Hospital. The officer was treated for a laceration and bruising and was then released.
