Ithaca College President Shirley M. Collado shared a letter Friday announcing the passing of a student.
According to the letter, Jase Barrack, class of 2020, sustained a serious injury off campus earlier this week. At Cayuga Medical Center, his family made the “very difficult decision to remove life support.”
Barrack of Allendale, New Jersey was majoring in athletic training in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.
Collado says that Barrack was an outstanding student and student-athlete, noting that he had a tremendous passion for soccer. He also served as the athletic trainer for the women’s softball team at the college.
A campus gathering will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday in Muller Chapel for “those who wish to come together in shared grief and to provide mutual support.”
