The Office of the State Comptroller this week finalized an audit of Cayuga County’s procurement and claims processes, finding, among other things, that the county did not properly seek competition for contracts or equipment purchases.
Examiners from the comptroller’s audit reviewed whether county officials followed proper procedure in procuring goods and services and whether claims were adequately supported and audited before payment between Jan. 1, 2017 and Dec. 11, 2018.
