An Auburn man has been charged with illegally having a loaded weapon, the Auburn Police Department said.
Deputy Chief Roger Anthony said officers interacted with Todd J. Swarthout, 11 Wood St., at his residence around 2:30 p.m. March 29 as part of separate ongoing criminal investigation. He was in possession of a loaded gun, Anthony said, and because Swarthout’s previous felony conviction prevents him from having a permit for a firearm, he was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Anthony said he didn’t know certain details of the case due to the ongoing investigation.
