At age 93, Williamson WWII veteran receives high school diploma

In his 93 years, Starford Steinhoff has accomplished quite a bit.

Among those accomplishments: Honorably serving the U.S. during World War II. He served in the Army’s 66th Infantry and fought in the European theater – primarily in France.

Mr. Steinhoff, or “Star” as he known, was drafted right out of high school – and, because of that, did not receive his high school diploma.

Thursday morning, that changed.

At the age of 93, Star donned a graduation gown and cap Thursday and took the stage at Williamson High School, where students and faculty honored him with a special diploma and made him an honorary member of the Class of 2019.
