Deputies say a 44-year-old Geneva resident was arrested for offering a false instrument for filing after she failed to disclose a specific retirement account.
Christina Schmitz, 44, of Geneva was charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. The charges stem from Schmitz falling to disclose a retirement account that she had when she applied for public assistance in August 2018.
As result of the missed disclosure she received $8,020. Deputies say she was not eligible for those funds.
She was arrested and charged. An appearance ticket was issued to answer the charges in Hopewell Town Court.
