DAILY FORECAST: Getting chilly for St. Patrick’s holiday weekend

After reaching 70 degrees in parts of the region on Thursday – this day will be all about change, as a cool weekend arrives in the Finger Lakes.

This morning a line of showers associated with a cold front will pass through, and behind it – partial clearing will be possible. While there might be some breaks of sun during the afternoon – it won’t mean warmth like that seen on Thursday.

Gusty winds will develop behind the front, and last into the overnight hours. It won’t be enough to prompt any warnings or advisories, but will be enough to blow around any loose items in the yard or driveway.

If your Friday travels take you west – expect gustier winds, as some wind advisories have been activated in those areas.

The weekend will be cool. Snow showers will be possible on Saturday, but don’t worry – it won’t be accumulating. By Sunday, things will be significantly sunnier. However, temperatures won’t rise much with that sunshine.

Expect high temps on both weekend days to sit in the mid- to upper-30s.
