Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is heading to Syracuse to play baseball for the Syracuse Mets, according to mlb.com.
The New York Mets reassigned Tebow this week (a friendly way to say he was cut) to the Triple-A Syracuse Mets.
Last season, he played for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
Tebow was the quarterback for the University of Florida and won the Heisman Trophy in 2007. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos and played two seasons there as well as one season for the New York Jets in 2012.
He started his professional baseball career in 2016.
