Deputies: Lyons woman charged with arson after setting mattress on fire

Deputies say a Lyons woman was arrested on arson charges after starting a fire to get rid of bed bugs.

Deputies charged Jacquline D. Lynch, 39, with fourth-degree arson.

She’s accused of using a lighter to attempt to kill bed bugs after her uncle sprayed the home with alcohol. The mattress ignited, and subsequently initiated the sprinkler system.

The fire caused damage to the inside of the apartment, and multiple others suffered water damage.

The entire incident took place on Sunday, according to deputies.

Lynch was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date in Lyons Town Court.
