Driver in stable condition at Strong after one-car crash in Farmington

One person is recovering at Strong Memorial Hospital after a serious one-car crash in Farmington on Monday.

Around 10:35 a.m. Kevin Troy, 56, of Ionia was traveling north on Mertensia Road when he crossed the center line and southbound lane. His vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the road, and struck a pine tree – which was severed from its base.

Deputies say a passenger in the vehicle, Sherry A. Clark, 54, of Farmington sustained minor bleeding to the neck but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Troy was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Victor-Farmington Ambulance for treatment of an injury sustained in the crash, as well as an overall medical evaluation.

Deputies say he’s listed in stable condition and still undergoing medical tests.

The Farmington Fire Department, and Town of Farmington Highway Department also assisted at the scene, along with RG&E, and State Police.
