Emergency responders in Ontario County quickly contained a vehicle fire that erupted Thursday afternoon on State Route 96 near High Street Extension in Victor, officials said.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:21 p.m. after a passerby reported a vehicle emitting smoke. Responding firefighters from Fishers Fire Department found the blaze originating in the engine compartment and quickly brought it under control. Authorities confirmed that the fire did not appear suspicious.
The driver, identified as Colin Coots, 80, of Victor, was uninjured. Ontario County deputies, along with New York State Police, assisted in the response and investigation.
