How to Save Songbirds with Your Morning Coffee

August 16 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Free

Many of the beautiful birds decorating North America’s backyards are coffee connoisseurs—and the coffee we choose to drink has an impact on their lives. Many migrant songbirds spend winters on Central and South American farms where coffee is grown under tall trees instead of in full sun. That’s a good thing. Shade-grown coffee farms provide critical bird habitat and help local economies. Join the Cornell Lab’s Amanda Rodewald and Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center’s Ruth Bennett as they discuss coffee, birds, and how they intersect for conservation. We’ll also answer your coffee questions during the live Q&A.
