Voting-rights advocates are preparing to deploy thousands of observers at New York polling places amid concerns about immigration enforcement, according to Spectrum News 1.
The New York Immigration Coalition said it is planning for possible voter intimidation, while the Department of Homeland Security said ICE has no operations planned to target polling locations.
Advocates said they are expanding voter outreach and legal preparations in case people are prevented from casting ballots.
They urged New Yorkers to make a voting plan and consider voting early.
