Finger Lakes Health has installed new X-ray systems at two outpatient locations in Geneva and Seneca Falls, saying the equipment is designed to make imaging exams more consistent and reduce repeat scans.
The Definium Tempo Select systems were added at Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery in Geneva and Lifecare Medical Associates in Seneca Falls, according to a Thursday news release from UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health. The health system describes the equipment as an automated, AI-powered imaging system.
Finger Lakes Health said the systems are intended to help technologists produce usable images on the first attempt. Fewer repeat exams would also mean less radiation exposure for patients, though the release did not provide local performance data measuring the change.
The equipment includes a motorized overhead X-ray tube that moves along four axes and a table designed to accommodate patients with different body sizes and levels of mobility. The health system said those features are intended to simplify positioning during exams and improve the workflow for technologists.
Jeff Murad, Finger Lakes Health's diagnostics director, said the upgrade is intended to improve image quality, efficiency and patient comfort at both facilities.
