Hotel Canandaigua sets murder mystery weekend, Santa breakfast and New Year’s Eve party

Hotel Canandaigua and Nolan’s Catering have announced three public events for November and December, beginning with a murder mystery weekend and ending with a New Year’s Eve party. The hotel’s event page lists the programs at 205 Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua.

The murder mystery weekend runs Friday through Sunday, Nov. 13-15. Guests can take part in the mystery throughout the weekend, with meals prepared by Nolan’s Catering. The event is limited to adults 21 and older. The hotel asks guests to make reservations by calling 585-577-3500; its event page does not list a price.

Breakfast with Santa follows Sunday, Dec. 6. Doors open at 9:45 a.m., with 30-minute seatings between 10 a.m. and noon. The family-friendly breakfast includes eggs, fruit, sausage, bacon, home fries, cinnamon buns and a waffle station. Santa will be available for visits and photos, according to the event page.

The New Year’s Eve party is set for Thursday, Dec. 31. A cocktail hour with a DJ begins at 7 p.m. before guests move to the ballroom for dinner and music by The Mid Daze. The hotel lists a five-hour open bar, a late-night snack and a midnight champagne toast. The party is restricted to guests 21 and older.

In an Oct. 8 announcement, the hotel and its exclusive group-event caterer also promoted winter weddings and private cocktail parties from December through April 2027. They said discounted event and catering options are available, though the announcement did not give prices or a discount percentage.

The hotel said its event facilities cover more than 10,000 square feet, including the lakefront Finger Lakes Ballroom and eight meeting spaces. Canandaigua, Keuka and Seneca are among the named meeting rooms. Nolan’s Catering said its menus for private events include some of its signature dishes and cocktail-party selections.

Melissa Oliver, the hotel’s general manager, said the seasonal events are intended for local residents as well as visitors and hotel guests. The hotel’s event page has reservation links and further details for the December programs.
