Southbound Interstate 81 traffic will be limited to one lane in Cicero from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, while crews repair pavement, the New York State Department of Transportation said.
The restriction will run between Exit 98 at Route 31 and Exit 11 at Route 481, according to the state's traveler advisory. The affected stretch is in the Onondaga County town of Cicero.
The work is weather-dependent, and the schedule could change. The department did not announce a full road closure or detour for this project.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution in the work zone. New York doubles speeding fines in work zones, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions could lead to a license suspension.
Travelers can check current road conditions through the state's 511 travel service by phone, website or mobile app before leaving.
