Democrats add NY-21 race to campaign program

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has added New York's 21st Congressional District to its Red to Blue program as the race to succeed Rep. Elise Stefanik takes shape, according to Spectrum News' State of Politics.

Democrat Blake Gendebien, a dairy farmer, faces Republican Anthony Constantino, who has President Donald Trump's backing, in a largely rural district stretching from Schoharie County to the Canadian border.

The committee added NY-21 alongside five other congressional districts.

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene praised Gendebien, while Marist Poll analyst Jay DeDapper said Constantino's Trump-aligned image could hurt him among independent voters in the district.

The report did not specify how much the committee plans to spend in NY-21, and Constantino's team did not respond to its request for comment on the move.
