Finger Lakes Community College faculty and students will discuss summer study abroad trips to South Africa and Sicily at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Wood Library in Canandaigua.
The event will be held in the Hamlin Room at 134 N. Main St. It will feature two presentations followed by a question-and-answer session, according to the college.
A group of 15 FLCC faculty members, students and alumni spent two weeks in a South African game preserve learning animal-tracking techniques. Professor Maura Sullivan and associate professor John Bateman will share their experiences observing wildlife there.
Another group of 23 faculty members and students spent five weeks in Syracuse, Sicily, studying art, architecture, volcanology and viticulture. Associate professor Mary Delmastro and Beth Johnson, FLCC's associate provost of curriculum and instruction, will discuss that trip.
The presenters also will share information about future study abroad opportunities. FLCC said its programs are open to students at other colleges and members of the community.
