Geneva's October community events will include the final farmers market of the season, a free Touch-A-Truck program, public skating and the city's 80th annual Halloween parade and costume contest.
The Geneva Farmers Market and Recreation Department announced the dates in information shared by Rebecca Weaver, the city's special events coordinator and farmers market manager. Activities are scheduled for Oct. 10, Oct. 12 and Oct. 25 at the lakefront, recreation complex and downtown.
Final market features harvest bash
The second annual Fall Harvest Bash will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Geneva Farmers Market, 35 Lake Front Drive. It will also be the last market of the 2026 season.
Children 12 and younger can trick-or-treat from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will also offer face painting, yard games and a "Boo-itiful Booth" contest.
The market's event flyer lists more than 30 vendors for the final market, alongside the seasonal activities.
Trucks and skating on Oct. 12
The Recreation Department's free Touch-A-Truck event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 12, in the South Exchange Street parking lot in front of the Geneva Recreation Complex, 666 South Exchange St.
Children of all ages can explore police cars, fire trucks, trash trucks and other vehicles and meet the people who operate them. The outdoor event will be held weather permitting.
Public skating follows inside the recreation complex, with sessions from noon to 1 p.m. and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Admission is $2, and skate rentals are $1.
The two skating sessions offer separate afternoon opportunities at the same South Exchange Street complex after the morning truck event.
Halloween parade and costume contest
The 80th annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25. Lineup begins at 3:45 p.m. in front of the Geneva Armory, 300 Main St., and the parade starts at 4 p.m.
The route will pass through downtown Geneva and continue to the DeSales High School gym, 90 Pulteney St. A community performance of the "Thriller" dance will take place along Milton Street at the end of the parade.
