Students participated in hands-on discussions focused on water and soil conservation, protecting natural resources, boater safety and other environmental topics.

Organizers said the event is intended to build an early appreciation for the environment while introducing students to local conservation work and possible outdoor careers.

Marine Patrol Officers Pam Housel and Greg Fingar represented the Yates County Sheriff’s Office during the event.
