The Montour Falls Harvest Festival will return Saturday, Oct. 3, with about 100 vendors, live entertainment and an evening fireworks display along Main Street.
The free festival will run from noon to 7:30 p.m. and is designed as a family event featuring crafts, artwork, specialty foods, local products, performances and hands-on activities. Centralus Health is presenting the festival.
Watkins Glen Promotions organizes the annual event with volunteers. This year's festival marks the 19th edition of the fall gathering, which draws residents and visitors from across the Finger Lakes.
Performances and activities planned throughout the day
Holly Campbell will perform the national anthem to open the festival. The entertainment schedule also includes the Allegany River Seneca Dancers, Dan the Snake Man, Nate the Great and a live cooking demonstration.
Activities will include face painting, balloon and bubble creations, a coloring contest and a pumpkin carving contest. Sun A Yoga will offer a free yoga demonstration.
The Schuyler County Historical Society will present ghost walks at intervals during the festival. Organizers said the program is intended to combine entertainment with opportunities to learn about the community's history.
Live music and fireworks close the festival
Still Kickin will perform from 4 to 7:15 p.m. The festival is scheduled to end with fireworks at 7:15 p.m.
Bruce Boughton, chair of the Falls Harvest Festival, said volunteers, vendors, performers, sponsors and community partners work together each year to produce the event and welcome visitors to Montour Falls.
Admission is free. Watkins Glen Promotions said festivalgoers can find vendor information and event updates through the organization's website and social media pages.
The nonprofit group produces six annual festivals focused on the culture, history and businesses of Schuyler County and the broader Finger Lakes region.
