A Buffalo man with a prior state conviction involving child sexual abuse material was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on a new possession conviction, federal prosecutors said.
Jamie Anderson, 27, was also sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to 40 years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York.
Prosecutors said Anderson was convicted in January 2022 in state court of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
New York State Police searched Anderson's Buffalo home in December 2024 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided a CyberTip alleging that files containing child pornography had been uploaded to Kik, prosecutors said.
Investigators seized a tablet that contained at least 10 images of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Colleen M. McCarthy and investigated by State Police and the FBI, with assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
