Road closures planned on Anthony Road, Route 54 in Yates County

Road closures planned on Anthony Road, Route 54 in Yates County

Two road closures will affect travel in Yates County over the coming days as crews carry out separate culvert replacement projects.

Anthony Road is currently closed on the south side of the David Downey Road intersection and is expected to remain closed through Sept. 17 while Yates County Highway crews replace a culvert pipe.

Residents who live on Anthony Road south of David Downey Road will need to access their homes from the south through the village of Dresden during the closure.

County officials said they will issue an update if the road reopens before Sept. 17.

A second closure is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 14, on State Route 54 in the town of Milo.

The New York State Department of Transportation said Route 54 will close to through traffic just south of Fullagar Road beginning at 6 a.m. to accommodate another culvert replacement project.

The road will remain open to local residents and businesses.

All other motorists will be directed to a posted detour using State Route 230 and State Route 14A.

Route 54 is expected to reopen Friday, Sept. 18.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time.
