A bridge on Sonora Road in the town of Bath will close to through traffic beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, as Steuben County crews undertake a complete reconstruction expected to last about nine weeks.
The closure will affect Sonora Road over Mud Creek between Robie Road and Kettle Road, according to the Steuben County Department of Public Works. The project will include new concrete abutments and concrete deck beams.
There will be no on-site detour during the closure, and motorists are being advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes until the work is completed.
Steuben County Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose said closing the bridge is necessary to safely complete the reconstruction.
“Motorist safety is our top priority as we complete this important bridge reconstruction,” Rose said. “We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is completed.”
