Bath police said a man walked into the department around 8:32 a.m. Sept. 6 and reported that another man had just passed him on Liberty Street and menaced him with a knife.

Storms was identified as the suspect and was quickly located and taken into custody with assistance from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

Police said Storms was found with a switchblade knife believed to have been used during the incident.

He was taken to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment and remained there awaiting arraignment at the time of the department’s report.

Bath police said Storms has two prior felony convictions in New York.
