The Trump administration is increasing investigative resources to examine alleged noncitizen voter fraud in New York and other states ahead of the midterm elections, according to Spectrum News.
The Department of Homeland Security said it has identified more than 24,000 cases of potential non-U.S. citizens on voter rolls since April 2025.
President Donald Trump has alleged that large numbers of noncitizens and deceased people remain listed as active voters.
Rep. Joe Morelle, a Rochester Democrat, said there is no evidence of widespread election fraud and accused the administration of trying to undermine public confidence.
Morelle said he has identified more than 150 potential election threats and plans to coordinate with lawmakers and outside organizations on election security and legal challenges.
