A Marion man was charged with driving while intoxicated after Wayne County sheriff's deputies said he backed a vehicle into a ditch early Saturday in Palmyra.
Deputies responded to Leroy Road in the town of Palmyra at 12:46 a.m. Sept. 5 and arrested James A. Suhr, 61, of Parker Road in the town of Marion.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office alleged Suhr was driving while intoxicated when he reversed the vehicle into the ditch.
Suhr was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, unsafe backing and moving from a lane unsafely.
Deputies said Suhr was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test that measured his blood alcohol content at 0.12%.
He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date.
