Canandaigua woman charged with DWI after restaurant response

A Canandaigua woman was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday after deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to a restaurant for a report that a woman had fainted.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded at 2:30 p.m. to Charlie Riedel's, 3140 County Road 10, where emergency medical personnel evaluated 58-year-old Melissa Feldman and determined there was no medical emergency or need for treatment.

Deputies then investigated how Feldman arrived at the restaurant and said she had driven a white 2023 Hyundai Tucson from her residence on County Road 50.

The sheriff's office alleges Feldman drove to the restaurant while impaired.

She was taken into custody and later released with a citation directing her to appear in Canandaigua Town Court.
