Keuka College is outlining advising, tutoring, technology and career services available to students enrolled in its online degree programs.
The college offers online study in fields including management, nursing, social work and education. It said remote students can use many of the same support services provided to students on campus.
Advising and academic help
Faculty members and academic advisers work with students on course planning and degree requirements. Some programs use cohorts so students move through classes with a consistent group of peers.
An online support specialist helps with transfers, financial aid, scheduling and referrals to other college resources. The Academic Success Center provides writing help, tutoring and study support, including assistance with the Moodle learning system.
Keuka also assigns financial aid support and offers accessibility services. Library and information-technology staff are available to help online students find materials and resolve access problems.
Career and personal support
Career development services include help with resumes, interviews and job searches. The college said online students can use those services throughout their programs.
Teletherapy and emergency support are also available. Keuka said the options are intended to help students manage academic and personal issues without traveling to campus.
Alumni Audra Palermo and Sierra Webster said regular contact with faculty and staff helped them remain connected while completing their programs.
Keuka, founded in 1890, is based in Yates County and operates both campus and online programs.
