A Seneca Falls man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he damaged property, obstructed a victim's breathing and tried to prevent an emergency call during a domestic incident near a child.
The Seneca Falls Police Department said officers arrested Ricardo Franqui-Quinonez, 53, at about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 27 following the reported physical disturbance.
Police alleged that Franqui-Quinonez broke property that did not belong to him, covered the victim's mouth with his hand and tried to stop the victim from contacting emergency services. The incident occurred near a child, according to the department.
Franqui-Quinonez was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense, both felonies; endangering the welfare of a child; two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief; criminal obstruction of breathing; and second-degree harassment.
Police processed Franqui-Quinonez at the department and transported him to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. An order of protection was requested for the victim.
