Geneva’s $4.1 million reconstruction of Castle Street between Brook and Main streets is substantially complete after months of construction and traffic disruptions, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The project included sanitary sewer upgrades, water main replacements, new storm sewer infrastructure, granite curbing, sidewalks, improved ADA ramps, driveway aprons and new pavement.
Public Works Director Joe Venuti said contractor Villager Construction of Fairport is completing final restoration work and finishing touches.
Acting City Manager Taylor Youngs said the project has resulted in a safer, more reliable street and upgraded infrastructure designed to serve the community for years.
Mayor Jim Cecere said additional phases of Castle Street reconstruction are being discussed as part of the city’s budget process, with other sections of the corridor still affected by aging pavement and underlying brick pavers.
