The Buffalo Bills added 17 players to their practice squad Monday, bringing back 14 players who spent training camp and the preseason with the team while adding three newcomers in wide receiver Greg Dortch, linebacker Shaq Thompson and offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.
NFL teams are permitted to carry 16 players on their practice squads, but they can add a 17th player through the International Player Pathway Program. That exemption applies to defensive lineman Travis Clayton, who has spent the previous two seasons on Buffalo’s practice squad and will return for a third.
Here is Buffalo’s practice squad by position:
Quarterback
- Shane Buechele
Running back
- Frank Gore Jr.
Wide receiver
- Greg Dortch
- Stephen Gosnell
- Ja’Mori Maclin
- Trent Sherfield Sr.
Dortch gives Buffalo another option at wide receiver and in the return game. He has appeared in 68 career games, recording 145 receptions for 1,310 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Rochester native has also averaged 8.9 yards per punt return and 23.6 yards per kickoff return during his career.
Offensive line

- Chase Lundt
- Jedrick Wills Jr.
Wills, the 10th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, joins Buffalo after spending training camp with the Chicago Bears. He started 57 of 58 regular-season games during his five seasons with the Cleveland Browns before missing the 2025 season while recovering from an injury.

Buffalo can continue making changes to its practice squad throughout the season as it addresses injuries, roster needs, and potential additions from other teams.
