The Ithaca City School District Board of Education voted 6-3 to retain Bond, Schoeneck & King as its legal representative for the 2026-27 school year following questions about the bidding process, according to The Ithaca Voice.
Some board members sought more time to review the proposals, while others said members had received the firms’ responses at least a week earlier.
Questions surrounding the process included why a letter from Bond, Schoeneck & King appeared to confirm its appointment before the board voted and how the selection reached the consent agenda.
Board member Karen Yearwood proposed investigating the district’s request-for-proposal process, but the motion failed 6-3.
Erin Croyle, Garrick Blalock and Yearwood opposed retaining the firm and were the same three members who supported an investigation into the process.
