New-format women’s sports leagues outpaced major men’s leagues in a Harris Poll index measuring cultural relevance, personal connection and engagement.
League One Volleyball scored 70.9, the Professional Women’s Hockey League scored 70.1 and Unrivaled basketball scored 69.8 in the survey of 2,004 U.S. adults.
The index found especially strong scores among affluent and younger audiences. League One Volleyball reached 87.8 among households earning at least $100,000, while Spain’s La Liga scored 88 among Gen Z respondents.
The poll said the men’s and women’s World Cups and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics could create a three-year period of heightened sponsorship opportunities.
