Seventeen New York landmarks will be illuminated pink Thursday night in memory of country music star and philanthropist Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday at age 80.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said the tribute recognizes Parton’s music, humanitarian work and support for communities in need.
The state Department of Transportation will also display Dolly-themed safety messages on highway signs Thursday and Friday, including reminders not to speed and to drive safely.
Locations in the tribute include the State Fairgrounds, the Fairport Lift Bridge, Grand Central Terminal’s Pershing Square Viaduct and several state office buildings and bridges.
