Cornell men’s soccer will open its 2026 season Saturday at Marist as the Big Red seeks the first trophy of coach John Smith’s decade-long tenure.
The program has won at least 10 games in six of the past seven seasons and has become a regular presence in the national Top 25. Smith said earning tangible silverware remains a central goal for the team.
Cornell’s turnaround began after a one-win season in Smith’s first year in 2016, followed by 11 victories two years later. Team captain Connor Miller said the players want a championship to show for the program’s recent success.
The opener is scheduled for Aug. 29 in Poughkeepsie.
