Cornell University’s five-year fundraising campaign brought in nearly $6.8 billion in gifts and commitments, surpassing its $5 billion goal, the university announced.
The To Do the Greatest Good campaign ran from October 2021 through June 30 and engaged more than 220,630 alumni. More than 500,000 donors participated, including gifts totaling a record $1.1 billion in the final year.
Cornell said donors created or expanded more than 1,000 endowed funds supporting students on the Ithaca and Cornell Tech campuses. President Michael I. Kotlikoff said the support would strengthen financial aid and faculty research.
The campaign also exceeded its original goal of engaging 200,000 alumni, reaching nearly 70% of Cornell’s global alumni population.
