A Bath woman faces misdemeanor charges after investigators accused her of stealing services from the Steuben County Department of Social Services over a roughly one-month period.
Steuben County sheriff’s deputies arrested 27-year-old Jessica L. Kennedy on Aug. 25 and charged her with petit larceny and misuse of food stamps, both class A misdemeanors, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities alleged the conduct occurred between Feb. 5 and March 9.
Kennedy was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The agency credited the county Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit and the District Attorney’s Office with assisting in the investigation.
