Patsy's Pizzeria's first upstate New York restaurant opening is set for Thursday, August 27, inside the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons at 120 South Aurora Street.
The Harlem restaurant, founded in 1933, is opening the Ithaca location in partnership with Promise Hospitality Group as part of a broader expansion into new markets.
The Ithaca restaurant will serve Patsy's classic New York, Margherita, vodka, sausage and peppers, pepperoni and meatball pies. Other menu items include spicy 'nduja and white truffle pizzas, mozzarella-stuffed supplì, pasta dishes, steak pizzaiolo, linguine vongole and whole butterflied branzino.
The beverage program will include cocktails built around Italian ingredients and liqueurs, along with Italian sodas. Daily brunch will feature antipasti, salads, griddle dishes, pasta, sandwiches and desserts including Neapolitan rum cake, almond tortoni, affogato, tiramisu and zeppole.
Pasquale "Patsy" Lancieri and his wife, Carmella, opened the original restaurant in East Harlem in 1933. Frank Brija took over the business in 1991 after working with the Lancieri family for years.
Patsy's recently entered a partnership with Promise Hospitality founder and CEO Premtim Gjonbalic to expand the restaurant concept into additional markets. The company said the Ithaca location is intended to pair the original restaurant's coal-oven pizza tradition with a broader, modern menu.
