Longtime New York State Fair vendors are changing how they stock and operate their booths because of new restrictions limiting vehicle access inside the fairgrounds, according to WSYR.
Vendors said they are increasing on-site storage, planning for longer walks from parking areas and adjusting deliveries to avoid running out of supplies during the day.
Some businesses are adding equipment such as refrigerated trucks to keep more inventory on site under the new rules.
Fair officials have also introduced shuttle services for certain needs, including transporting entertainers, assisting people with mobility issues and moving large amounts of cash to exit gates.
The restrictions are part of broader security changes that will get their first major test when the 13-day fair begins.
