One person was taken to Upstate University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Turnpike Road in the town of Aurelius.
Firefighters were called to the crash at 7:34 a.m. between Blanchard and Laraway roads, according to the Aurelius Volunteer Fire Department. Crews arrived to find two vehicles with heavy front-end damage.
Aurelius fire officials said one patient was transported to Upstate by Auburn City Ambulance, while the other driver declined treatment from Cayuga Ambulance.
Engine 2, Rescue 2, Squad 2 and Cars 2 and 3 responded to the scene. New York State Police and the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
Fire units returned to service at 8:52 a.m.
