A 63-year-old Williamson man was charged with driving while intoxicated late Saturday after Wayne County sheriff’s deputies responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Ontario.
Deputies arrested James Brown, a member of the Williamson Volunteer Fire Department, after responding at 11:41 p.m. Aug. 15 to the Ontario Fire Station at 6160 Walter Cone Drive. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a 911 caller reported Brown was driving while intoxicated and heading to the station.
Deputies alleged Brown showed signs of intoxication, admitted drinking alcohol before driving and showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. A chemical breath test later measured his blood alcohol content at 0.12%, according to the sheriff’s office.
Brown was charged with common-law DWI and DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater. He was released on tickets and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
