The no-wake advisory for Cayuta Lake has been lifted after several days of unusually high water, according to the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.
The advisory was lifted effective Sunday, Aug. 16.
The Sheriff’s Office had issued the no-wake request Aug. 10 after high water left some docks and shoreline structures partially or completely submerged.
Officials had warned that wakes from passing boats could cause additional property damage and create hazards on the lake, including submerged docks and debris that would normally be visible.
Boaters had been asked to operate at slow, no-wake speeds throughout Cayuta Lake until conditions improved.
Sheriff Kevin P. Rumsey announced the advisory was no longer in effect Sunday.
