A man was taken into custody after allegedly threatening people with explosives and setting objects on fire inside a Camillus gas station, according to WSYR.
Police said the suspect entered the Sunoco on West Genesee Street shortly before 9 p.m. Aug. 15, claimed to have a backpack full of explosives and threatened to kill anyone who did not leave.
After everyone evacuated, police said the suspect barricaded himself inside and began setting objects on fire as officers worked to resolve the incident.
The standoff lasted more than an hour before the suspect was apprehended and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Police said no explosives were found, and multiple law enforcement agencies and fire departments assisted at the scene.
