A Union Springs man was sentenced to 18 years in state prison for sexually abusing a child younger than 11 over more than a year, the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office said.
Craig Gilmore, 63, also received 20 years of post-release supervision for his conviction of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors said Gilmore committed multiple acts of sexual conduct against the child between spring 2023 and August 2024.
Cayuga County Court Judge Steven H. Buschman imposed the sentence. The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office investigated the case, and Senior Assistant District Attorney Courtney Venditte prosecuted it.
