A Penn Yan man was charged after deputies said he was found with contraband while incarcerated at the Yates County Jail.
Michael A. Brown, 25, was arrested around 5:35 p.m. Aug. 12 following an investigation at the jail, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Brown was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband.
The Sheriff’s Office did not specify what type of contraband was allegedly found.
Brown was issued an appearance ticket and arraigned in centralized arraignment court.
