A memorial walk will be held Sunday in Ovid to remember Kristin O’Connell, whose 1985 murder remains unsolved 41 years later, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The walk begins at 4 p.m. at the Ovid American Legion and was organized by Heather Caward and Ciara Holden, co-hosts of the “Hot Justice” podcast.
Organizers will also collect bottles and cans beginning at 3:45 p.m. to raise money for advanced DNA touch testing related to the case.
O’Connell, a 20-year-old college student from Minnesota, was found stabbed to death in a cornfield along County Road 139 after disappearing from a party the night before.
New York State Police have not identified her killer or killers, and O’Connell’s family has continued pressing for additional forensic testing and answers.
