Five people were charged after an early-morning SWAT raid in Bath that police said uncovered suspected fentanyl, other controlled substances, cash, drug packaging materials and brass knuckles.
Bath police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a no-knock search warrant around 6 a.m. Friday at an apartment at 22 E. William St. The warrant followed what police described as a lengthy joint investigation into narcotics possession and sales in the town and village of Bath.
Investigators said they seized suspected fentanyl, several other controlled substances, a large amount of U.S. currency, packaging and sales materials, brass knuckles and other equipment allegedly used in narcotics trafficking.
Three people face felony charges.
Jacqueline N. Myers, 41, of Bath, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony.
Timothy J. Aviles-Tolbert, 28, of Rochester, and Lionel E. Holland, 53, of Bath, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a Class B felony.
Myers, Aviles-Tolbert and Holland were transported to the Steuben County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
Josiah D. Gardner, 37, of Alfred Station, and Franklin G.R. Brockway, 34, of Hornell, were each charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were released on appearance tickets.
Police said the investigation involved the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Corning Police Department, Steuben County 911 and Steuben County District Attorney’s Office.
